Our meeting for Adoniram Judson took place on January 19th, 2008.
The following resources are recommended for study of the life of Judson:
- To the Golden Shore, The Life of Adoniram Judson, Courtny Anderson
This book is an excellent narrative presentation of the life of Judson. It is an easy read, though it is of a solid length (just over 500 pages), which allows you to become failry aquainted with Judson’s story. At the time I write this, you can find this resource new at www.cbd.com. - The Life of Adoniram Judson, Edward Judson.
This book is written by Judson’s son. It is an excellent companion to the above resource by Anderson on account of the fact that this one provides much more quotation and documentation from firsthand sources. Large portions of letters and such written by the Judsons are to be found in this book. It does not have the same smooth narrative flow that characterizes Anderson’s work, and thus it requires a bit more work to get through this one. If you read these two works together (Anderson’s would be best to start with, most likely), you will be well-acquainted with Judson’s story. There are longer and shorter versions by Edward Judson. I am here referring to the longer version (just over 600 pages). At the time I write this, you can find this resource new on www.abebooks.com.
